Then pick up to three traditions to put in it: cooking together, baking pies, watching the parade, football in the yard, a thankful jar, jumping in leaf piles, making place cards, sharing a meal with neighbors, or one of your own.

What they're thankful for, in their own words

Every Thanksgiving book asks one question we love: what is your child thankful for this year? A new puppy, Grandpa's Sunday pancakes, a best friend down the street. Whatever they say, we weave it gently into the story, so the book keeps this year's answer long after the leftovers are gone.

And tell us the dish your family can't do without, from any tradition. Sweet potato pie, tamales, Grandma's stuffing: it'll be right there on the table.

A cozy autumn adventure

Choose a story idea, like The great pie rescue, The leaf-pile mystery, The gratitude treasure hunt or A seat at the table for everyone. There might be a cheeky squirrel who loves pie or a gust of wind that scatters the place cards, but never anything scary, and every story ends warm, with everyone together.

Our illustrations keep the grown-ups at the oven and the stove, with the kids helping from the kitchen table.

1. Tell us about them. Their name, age, family and the things they love. Add a photo if you'd like the pictures to look like them.
2. Read the story first. You approve the story before we illustrate it, with up to 3 rewrites.
3. Read it or hold it. Your digital book opens on any phone, tablet or computer. A printed book comes to your door.
